Scriptiii Resume Studio — user guide

Scriptiii Resume Studio is a privacy-first resume workspace. Everything runs in your browser: there is no account, no upload, no remote database, and no telemetry. Your drafts live in this browser's IndexedDB storage.

Quick start

  1. Open the studio from the header.
  2. Create a blank resume or choose a template.
  3. Fill in your identity, summary and sections. Every change saves automatically to this browser.
  4. Open the preview to check the page, then download a PDF or use Save as PDF / Print.
  5. Download a backup before clearing site data or moving to another device.

Workspace

The workspace lists your resumes and master profiles. You can search, filter, archive, restore from trash, duplicate, delete, and export a resume or the full workspace. Storage health and the optional passphrase vault live here as well.

A master profile stores content, contact details and section order for reuse. Creating a resume from a profile gives it a fresh resume ID and revision history.

Templates

The gallery contains 38 templates across 20 categories. Use search, category filters, sorting, and the My templates view to narrow the list.

  • Template previews are generated from CSS and the same layout definitions used by the renderer. No screenshot, remote font or third-party artwork is loaded.
  • A template changes the visual design, not your content.
  • To create a custom template, open a resume, tune the design panel and use Save as template. It appears under My templates.
  • The design panel's template picker is a fixed-height, scrollable list. Use the scrollbar, the wheel, or focus the list and use the arrow keys.

Editor

The editor keeps one source of truth for content and design. The left side contains the forms and the right side is a live preview.

  • The design panel controls template, paper size, font, type size, line height, section spacing, accent colour, title case and separators.
  • Content sections can be collapsed and expanded individually. Use Collapse all or Expand all to manage a long resume.
  • Collapsing a section keeps its values; nothing is lost.
  • Reorder sections and entries with drag handles or the Move up / Move down buttons. Every change can be undone.
  • The section map is an alternative view of the resume order. Select a node to use its actions, or use Open in editor (or double-click) to edit that section in a dialog.
  • The preview shows the exact page size and page count. A professional preview and the downloaded PDF use the same page count.

Creative canvas

Creative layouts use positioned DOM text and decorative vector shapes. Text remains selectable; it is never rasterized.

  • Default text blocks flow vertically using their measured content height, so long sections do not overlap.
  • Drag a text block by its handle, or use the inspector to set its position, width, height and rotation.
  • Use Add page when the content needs more room. The canvas reports content that extends outside the page instead of silently clipping it.
  • The direct PDF download is not available for creative layouts. Use Save as PDF / Print, which uses the browser's print engine and keeps the text selectable.

PDF and print

There are two export paths:

  • Download PDF builds a PDF in the browser with selectable text and links. It is available for professional layouts using the embedded Latin and Devanagari fonts. The direct PDF is fitted to the preview page count.
  • Save as PDF / Print uses the browser print dialog. It supports the full Unicode range and creative layouts. Choose A4 or US Letter in the print dialog if needed.

Use the direct PDF for a quick file, and Save as PDF / Print when you need the closest match to the HTML preview or your content uses characters outside the embedded PDF fonts.

JSON and backups

There are two different JSON files:

  • JSON Resume is a portable content format. Use it to bring a resume in from another tool, hand a resume to an AI agent, or move content between apps. See the Resume JSON format document in this docs page.
  • Workspace backup contains the full local studio state, including design, artwork, templates and assets. Use it to restore the workspace; do not hand-edit it.

JSON Resume import creates a new resume and does not overwrite an existing one. The workspace backup restore preview shows what will be added before anything changes.

Privacy and storage

  • Drafts are stored in this browser only. The app does not send resume content anywhere.
  • Browser storage can be cleared by the browser or device. Keep regular backups.
  • The optional vault encrypts a backup with a passphrase using AES-GCM. The passphrase is never stored; losing it means losing access to that encrypted backup.
  • No analytics or telemetry is collected.

Keyboard and accessibility

The app uses native controls, visible focus rings, labels, skip links and live status messages. Drag actions have Move up / Move down alternatives. Dialogs close with Escape. The preview and template picker are keyboard-focusable regions.

Getting help

Choose Resume JSON format in the docs navigation for the import/export schema and a ready-to-copy prompt for an AI agent. If you are unsure which export to use, use Save as PDF / Print for a visual match and Download PDF for a selectable-text file.
